Manchester United will take on Manchester City in the eighth round (final) of the English FA Cup 2022/23 season at Wembley Stadium in Brent, Greater London, England, on March 3, kicking off at 11:00 p.m. ET. It’s a big match, with the winner taking it all.
Behorst joined United on loan from Burnley in January as the club struggled with a striker famine. Behorst has scored zero goals in the league and just two in all competitions this season. However, his diligent pressing, linking up, and competing for the ball has contributed to his team’s success, including winning the League Cup and finishing third.
If his loan is not extended, this could be Behorst’s farewell game at United. Anthony Martial is injured, so he’s a certainty to start. Behorst gave an interview ahead of the game.
“First and foremost, I’m proud. I still can’t believe I’m playing for this amazing club, a big club, the most beautiful club in England. I’m so proud and grateful,” he said.
“It’s been a great experience for me so far. Now that the finals are coming up, I can’t wait to finish the season in style. I’ve been happy from the beginning since I got here.”
“I tried to give my all in every match I played, in every moment I had,” said Behorst. It didn’t matter what position I was in. I always gave my best. Of course, at my age as a striker, a record of only two goals is not enough. It’s not a good record. That’s the only disappointment (in his United career),” he explained.
“I scored a lot of goals in the past, but I think I have since redeveloped myself in all the other parts of my football contribution: 스포츠토토 team pressing, linking play, professionalism, etc. I think I have been able to help the team through that. The lack of goals? Let’s save that for the final, let’s do that.”
“This final will be our day, and it will be my day,” Behorst concluded. I hope the fans will believe in us and we can make good memories again (following the League Cup win),” he added.
