A large crowd gathered in the Doosan dugout bullpen before the SSG-Dusan game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on the afternoon of April 22.
Manager Lee Seung-yeop, catcher Jang Seung-hyun, and the coaching staff were there to watch Brandon Waddell make his first bullpen appearance in a Doosan uniform in just over a year.
Brandon was signed by Doosan Unipop last July as a replacement for Miranda and went 5-4 with a 3.60 ERA, but was not re-signed by Doosan.
This season, Doosan signed Dillon, but when he was plagued by injuries, they pulled out the knife and signed Brandon, who was playing in Taiwan.
Brandon, who arrived in Korea on July 17, went 5-4 with a 2.69 ERA as a starter for the Rakuten Monkeys of the Taiwan Professional Baseball League this year.
After watching Brandon’s first bullpen pitch, Doosan manager Lee Seung-yup smiled with satisfaction and clapped and encouraged Brandon, who completed 27 bullpen pitches.
After his first bullpen pitch, Brandon said, “I’m in good shape. The ball went where I wanted it to go, including my fastball and curveball. I’m going to pitch this weekend, so I’m going to take care of myself and look good,” he said with a big smile. 메이저놀이터
“I’m excited and happy to be here at Doosan. I’m happy to see my teammates. I will do my best to show a good performance on the mound,” he said.
“Last year, I was a middle reliever and switched to a starter in Korea, but this year is different. I’ve been pitching in Taiwan for a long time, so I’m confident,” he said.
Meanwhile, Brandon will make his comeback on the 24th against Kiwoom at Gocheok Sky Dome.
